a_i to AI 4.0 is a joint event by the Mathematics Club and AI Club that explores how mathematical foundations drive modern artificial intelligence. From probability and optimization to Gaussian Mixture Models (GMMs), Expectation-Maximization (EM), and clustering, the event uncovers how elegant mathematical ideas translate into intelligent algorithms that predict, optimize, and reveal hidden real-world patterns.

A two-day intensive session conducted by the AI Club, where participants explored the evolution of sequence modeling from RNNs and Transformers to modern State Space Models (SSMs). The session covered essential mathematical foundations and dived deep into architectures like HiPPO, S4, and Mamba, combining theory with hands-on understanding of how these models power efficient long-context reasoning.

A collaborative initiative between AI Club and TechSoc IIT Madras, designed exclusively for first-year students beginning their AI journey. Conducted in an interactive, beginner-friendly format, the session introduced the fundamentals of deep learning, starting from regression and gradually building up to the concept of neurons and neural networks, helping freshies gain their first hands-on experience in AI.
